I have made an effort to eat healthy this week. I've had a few nibbles of chocolate and sips of wine, but I've definitely eaten within my calorie ranges. The exercise, however, hasn't been so great. I've walked a lot every day, but that's it: no intense cardio. Luckily, I've maintained my weight this week (actually dropping a tiny bit).
It feels good not to gain. I don't feel as though I've made any sacrifices when it comes to food--I still eat chocolate and drink wine, but maintain my weight. That's a great reminder that living a healthy lifestyle isn't all about sacrifice. It is more about balance than anything else.
I've been interested in finding ways to make my favorite recipes healthier. It isn't always easy, but it is great when you can take an extremely fattening recipe and make it a bit healthier to eat.
So, with the weekend ahead of me, I want to make some goals to meet by Monday:
1. Cardio, cardio, cardio. I need to do at least an hour of cardio on Saturday and Sunday (treadmill, I believe).
2. Drink plenty of water both days of the weekend (I am great during the week, but tend to slack on the weekends).
3. Buy a new pair of pants that fit (my pants are outgrowing me).
I'll let you know how I do on Monday.
In the meantime...don't forget to eat healthy foods, like garlic!
